Boom - w5r3 done!

I did it - yay!

During the run I felt good, legs moving well and wasn't out of breath.

Trouble is after my run the outside of my left ankle started to hurt and my right calf also hurts (feels tight) does anyone else experience this? If so what do you do to prevent and recover? I predict I will be very stiff tomorrow (sad face),

Thanks for any advice.

Sandro

I've had less issues with aching since I did pre and post warm up stretching too - have you tried that? :) well done on doing that run - I'm only one in front of you - it's such a buzz :D

Hi, thanks for your reply. I've never stretched as I thought the brisk walking was sufficient. What does your stretching involve? Well done on your progress too! How was w6r1?

I do these before and after - but stretch into them more afterwards - it really helped :)

W6R1 was a bit weird - as its back to walking breaks for a bit - but I am sure its for a reason lol

Thank you, yes I was surprised at the run make up. Maybe Laura's taking our mind off the even bigger run later! Do you ache?

I just finished this run toooooo. I have no helpful advice for the ankle situation but I just wanted to celebrate with you! Maybe soak in Epsom Salts and hot water? That's my go-to recovery solution.

Thanks, sounds good but I'm not sure my wife would approve celebrating with you in the tub - I'll work on her though!

It's such a shame that I feel like this as I've been enjoying the running. Hopefully tomorrow I'll feel better and ready for w6r1. Congrats on completing the run; great feeling hey! Take care, Sandro

HAHAHA omg! Tell her she is welcome to join us.

But seriously, I need to start reading what I type before I hit send.

Not sure about a long hot soak, maybe a cold shower is more apt! Hee, hee, hee!

Which run are you on now? Do you constantly ache?

I had really tight calfs last week and before my last run I did some ankle lifts and dips on the step outside my door before running. They definitely didn't feel as bad and I was running for 28 minutes this time.
