I used to always run on the treadmill . Having a break of about 3years my partner decided to take up running in October so I did the plan with him. He gave up during March to concentrate on his golf but I kept going. I thoroughly enjoy running outdoors and will never go inside a gym again! Running with him gave me the confidence to be seen in Lycra outdoors!
My only problem is that I struggle running into a head wind, I tend to run to a certain point and then turn round. I'm ok if my outward route is into the wind. Does anyone else find it difficult? I have about a mile of straight pavement and it's so much easier to walk. Once i turn off that road I'm fine.
I am running 3 miles in just under 30 mins. The c25k is a fantastic running plan, Laura does get you through it.
It's very hard work and it's always a relief when you can run with the wind behind you, or change direction and lose it. If you keep running you usually lose it at some point
Your speed doesn't matter for c25k purposes. Laura is a star and will haul you round ☺
I don't like running in the wind either - it always seems as though you're running into a headwind whichever direction you go in. Probably good for building stamina though. I hate it when it blows so hard that you can't seem to catch your breath properly. But it's all part of running in the great outdoors....☺️
