So I started running on 7th of Feb, I weighed 22st 7lbs. I chipped away and the weight began to fall off, I really focused my attention on eating properly, efficiently and healthily. I am now a graduate of the C25K, and have kept up running.

Today, however; I made myself very proud. About two weeks ago I posted my fastest ever 5k time of 43:07 - with that I was chuffed as I had not run for very long. Today's run though? 5k in 36:43!!! My first 3k (which I use as a yard-stick of sorts) was 21:22 another huge improvement.

I know it may seem silly to be proud of something like this, but having lost just shy of 3st so far, I am really ecstatic! I'm often the sort of bloke who loses motivation doing this sort of thing, but what is more: I genuinely enjoy it, too!

Happy running!

That's fantastic !! Well done. Currently about 25lbs overweight myself (have lost 13 lbs so far). I'm on week 8, I can tell you I'm looking forward to not having to lug the extra 25 lbs with me when I run !!!!

I'm very slow, so once I graduate I'm going to concentrate on being a wee bit faster. Would eventually like to cover 5k in something like 30 mins or however close I can get !

That's what I've been doing. I know I can do the distance, but I really would like to add some "explosiveness" to my run game now! Keep on keepin' on and we'll do it!

No its not, you have plenty to shout about, that's fantastic going. Keep it up, I know the feeling I shed 4st from 16st 8 to 12st 7 and my times are falling. Good effort.

Losing 3 stone is quite an achievement, and 4 minutes off your 5k time is great too. As you lose weight it'll only get easier, so keep it going.

That's fantastic! You should be shouting it from the roof tops! 3 stones is a fabulous weight loss and such a time off your PB is amazing! You should be VERY proud and VERY motivated! Well done, keep it up and keep posting :-)

That's great..BE proud, even better that you aree enjoying running as that makes it more likely you'll stick with it. Parkrun next ?

Not silly at all! You're doing great. Don't stop now, keep up the momentum and keep nailing those runs. It's the momentum that keeps the weight loss on track. Keep up with the healthy diet too as it all helps to keep you fit and feeling like you want to get out there and run your legs off

As a former fatty myself, I don't want anything to stop me running. I love this new-found feeling of wellbeing and don't want to ever go back to being the unhealthy lump that was me

If you keep running, increasing gradually in 10% a week increments and taking care you will increase how far you can run. As you get fitter and stronger you'll be able to start doing intervals to help build your speed up a bit. We might never be the Mo's of this world but we can certainly develop a bit of speed. I would say helpful when running for a bus, but I never use the bus now, I always walk or run. LOL
