W6 R3: DOMS, wardrobe malfunctions and an evil stitch...

Well, I wasn't sure If should jog with DOMS - caused, I think, by reverting back to concrete on Monday after a week on a treadmill - but I went ahead anyway.

I quickly discovered that my clever idea of running my headphones down the back of my top to put my smartphone in the back pocket of my running shorts was a rookie error.

Jogging + weighty phone in shorts + gravity = potential indecent exposure.

But Laura had started and like a wally I decided to reroute the earphones without stopping my jog, even though Laura was paused the whole time my headphones were unplugged!

So, to sum up my supposed 25 minute jog:

1-5 minutes - brisk walk, looking good....

5-6 minutes - jogging with flailing arms and headphones - looking ridiculous and giving myself an early stitch

6-31 minutes - intermittent feeling ok and returning stitch, jogging at snails pace

31-35 - incredibly heavy breathing walking home looking like I was about to collapse.

Job done?

:-/

Definitely job done.

Getting through the hard runs is worth twice as much as cruising through the relatively 'easy' ones.

Yup! Job done and very funny....sounds just like me, my phone goes in a jacket pocket but now it's getting warmer (I started running Jan 4 so it's mostly been bloody freezing!) I need a bum bag of sorts. Well done, keep running :) and snails pace is good!

That's a funny post! Thanks for making me giggle. I run carrying my phone in my hand. I suppose it's not ideal but I can't hear on the earphones thingy so I just look on the phone screen when it switches from walk to run and run to walk.

I ended up with my phone in my hand too, but my palms were so sweaty.. Think I will purchase an arm thingy for iPhone /smartphone. Better that than my jogging shorts round my ankles! :-D

Does that mean that if you were only to run after you fully recover, you would be running with "non-DOMS"?

Ahahaha! Im so glad to read this thought it was only me that these sorts of things happen to ...oh dear 😀 i had trouble with runkeeper this morning as i decided i would try to see actually how fast and how far im running but thought i would wait to start it after my 5 min warm up walk ...forgetting that im blind as a bat without my glasses and couldnt see what the screen was saying to me whilst in the first few mins of my run...trying to swipe my phone screen to unlock it and not trip up cos im not looking where im running ...couldn't get it to work in the end after all that so think i might wait until i finish C25K so theres not as much goingon on my phone 😜

I should just mention that my phone was in an arm band thing which normally is better but didn't help me at all yesterday!
