and it most certainly does not mean fun run! It means making things as difficult as possible for the runners using whatever is available in the town in question - mostly steep stair cases etc...I thought it looked difficult...

Hummmm ....... sounds like the sort of race Rignold would relish, not the sort of thing most 'regular' runners would actively seek out. ;) x

I think I'd much prefer a "trail heureux" (is that right?). Is this one of those runs when people jump down walls and do forward rolls and the like? Didn't that originate in France?

Trail heureux sounds fun, I don't know if such a thing exists in France! I've almost never even seen another runner, and there are only 8 subscribed to this one so far. It basically means climbing to the top, running up and down stair cases, going to the bottom and doing it all again! Yes twice up and down...

Blimey CG you'll have glutes of steel after this! I must say I chickened out of a race when I saw the second half (of a 10K) was all uphill. I've gone for a nice flat one for my first. This sounds tough. Have you checked the comments from previous years as these can be quite enlightening? You could always walk the hard bits.

This is the first ever in my town that's why I thought it might be fun. Have a look at the link to my first post (under here) It's basically 120MTs climb and running around the top of Cordes up and down stone stairs TWICE!

Are you going to do it??

I'm thinking not, it looks really really hard! It's hard enough running around here on the "flat" bits...
