Following my week in the land of waffles (during which I consumed not only several delicious waffles but far more beer than I'd anticipated) I've decided to start with week 2. The unplanned week 2 run I completed just before going away was challenging but manageable (just about!) and I feel like it's the right place for me to pick up.

I overslept this morning and spent a lazy day watching tv and eating souvenir chocolate, but made the snap decision to run just in time to fit it in during daylight and I'm so happy that I did! I feel so much more positive and somehow as though I have far more energy than when I set out!

Well done Rach! Beer and waffles behind you now and you can focus on your runs. Tick em off one by one. Slow but sure and you'll be just fine.

Like you say, you feel energised! It gets better, which is why we keep doing it!

Good job Rach :-) getting back on the treadmill after a break can be difficult, so welcome back.

It feels great to get your heart pumping and the difference it makes once you stop is one of the things that keeps me running! Non runners look at you as if you are mad when you admit to having got up early to make sure you could fit in a run (even more so if it's raining!), other runners will just look envious - they will understand how good it can make you feel. I wish I had found out a couple of decades earlier...

Me too! All those diets when all I really needed to do was get out and run.
