Not at all detrimental. Having a couple of days rest can be really beneficial, especially if you are feeling a bit achey!

I often take 2 rest days - I'm one of the dodgy knee brigade.

I always take at least two rest days, my old bod can't cope with too regular high impact, which I found out through feet/leg issues, I'm slow and it takes me a bit longer, but Have been able to 'run' for over an hour and regularly do 7k - 10k. (Bit crook with a sore calf at the moment). Remember, no one size fits all and you are doing this for you.

Whatever works for you... Sometimes I take 2 days between runs. Often this is enforced by my job but it can also be when I am not feeling well. The thing here is continue to enjoy your running :)

Didn't rest much during the c25k plan, but first run I did afterwards my tendon flared up - Tendonitus. Was about 3k from home and had a long walk home, hurt above ankle and bottom of leg was muscle clamping. (That was friday, doctor tuesday) Doctor said rest and ice, more that I do better it feels. Will be a little more careful when I start again. P.S. Doctor thought my foot was turning in and straining tendon, so off to see podiatrist at some point. I said all along patience is the thing - then forgot!

I normally run every other day. I have done since completing C25K in Nov. However, on saturday I postponed my run until Sunday as my legs were feeling tired, so a two day rest. I dont know if it is the reason, but Sunday I knocked 3mins off my 14km run.

I think do as Laura says in the C25K+ stamina podcast : "Listen to your body, but dont let your mind make you lazy. You know how you feel when you challenge yourself and win is so Worth it" :)

Not all all. I've often taken two or more rest days for various reasons, and most of the time I feel stronger on my first run back!

Not detrimental. Can't remember now what affected me during C25K but find these days (have been running 'seriously' for almost a year) I can rest for about a week before the next run feels significantly awfuller!!

Two to three weeks is the period I have been told that it takes for your fitness levels to noticeably decline. That said, it is worth trying to keep up the momentum with C25k since you are not just building your physicality but also the habit of regular running. Two or three days rest is not going to have any measurable effect on your progress and it is far better to avoid injury than stick to a timetable. Good luck.

I found 2 rest days essential as I progressed in to week 7, I've needed the time for sure! Feels good, do it if you think you need it!

Have two days girl you've earned them. Listen to your body it will tell you when it's ready to run. Better 2days rest than 2 weeks on the IC :) J

I run 3 times a week and usually find the run after the 2 rest days the easiest. But I also do quite a lot of walking, swimming etc on all but one of my so called rest days.

hiya - I'm opting regularly these days, for two rest days & s'ok / working well. I'm having aches in the old knees & am v sure combinations of regular ice and wee bits extra rest have prevented / protected me from potential injury & proper time off. look after them knees :)

PS-we're almost at the same stage...today I'm trying W7R1 (eek!- the last three minutes of W6R3 nearly finished me.. ;)

Thanks for asking this one. I have just started week 8 and am finding that my right knee needs two days rest between runs. Loving the running though!
