Is there anyone out there old enough...

to pretend to be my mother?

Just completed week 5 run 2 :-) Went out before the snow sets in and got wind and rain instead :-(

Big one on Friday: the 20 minute run. I've just read the posts of some of the people who completed it and I'm actually looking forward to it (weirdly). However, I'm supposed to be helping someone move house over the weekend and I might be feeling a little cream crackered. It would help if my mum would write me a sick note - hence the question at the top...

No! You just have to do it!! (Says she just about to r2 tomorrow) But this weather is a real ******* isn't it. I so desperately want to complete wk5 and this snow has come just at the wrong time. Well done, so far.

Good old week 5 run 3 :-P glad you're looking forward to it, the high afterwards is amazing :-D you know the drill, slow and steady will see you through :-)

Helping people move might help slacken you off?

Got my fingers crossed that the snow doesn't stop you!

Sick note to excuse you helping move house or doing the run ???? You can do both! If it was me I would just get up earlier and do run first so no opportunity to find excuse later in the day . I found thinking about 20 min run was worse than the actual run . Don't focus on the time just listen to Laura and go with the flow . If I was struggling I found it helpful to make mental lists - doesn't matter what - shopping lists , to do lists, where I would like to go on holiday. Another tip is to count up to 100 and then backwards. Just try and keep your mind off how long you still have to run.

And once you have finished Wow you will just feel amazing .Go on you know you can do both . And bad weather is no excuse . You won't melt in the rain and only time I wouldn't run is if it is icy therefore dangerous underfoot. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

the 20min run isnt really so bad as most think and the sense of acheivement after is huge :) fingers crossed the snow doesnt stop you

Once you've done the run, you will want the opportunity to tell as many people as possible. So the house move is perfect. You can show everybody how fit you are and they will wonder what you are on because you will be grinning all day.

Do both and good luck.

Absolutely no excuse. Get out there and do it. How dare you think that your Mother would be such a soft touch as to write you a note so you can get out of a run! Did I bring you up to be such a wimp? No!!

And whilst I'm at it, make sure that you make a good job of helping with the house move and don't forget to wipe the skirting boards behind the furniture and leave the house nice and clean for the next people. And

don't let them put anything away in the new kitchen cupboards until you've washed them out.

And don't forget to thank them for having you, there's a good boy!

Now lick the hankie, I can see a smudge on your face......I'll just put you in a head lock so I can wipe it off.

The run will be easier than the house move so just think of it as your warm up......

No, no excuses allowed. If your Mum is anything like mine was, you will need a doctor's note at the very least...

You must do it...I had bad dreams all week leading up to that run. I honestly thought I couldn't do it, but I did...dig deep and you will reap amazing benefits

You can do it!! I cried when I finished it and even in the weeks that have followed I have yet to feel quite so proud of myself again

My mother is hard core and no amount of pleading could keep you off school but in the rare sick notes she did write she always mentioned diarrhoea which embarrassed us totally...I imagine this was her aim ;)

I will give you the same advice as I gave my 16 year old son this morning - sometimes you just have to suck it up and get on with it!

Seriously, the fact that you are looking forward to it is a good sign. You'll be fine. Just go for it!

If you do your run first you'll be on cloud 9 anyway so you'll need the furniture to weight you down and keep your feet on the ground. :-)

No sick note from me either-

PS When you are on cloud 9 can you blow all the snow cloud away toward Far South? Thanks.
