A HOUND ON HOUND TOR

Rather appropriately, I ventured out onto Hound Tor on Dartmoor late last week for a bit of a jaunt with me dog after visiting a client. It was great; loads to keep Izzie busy, and some great terrain...then it happened. I was [rather foolishly for someone of my advanced years] clambering over the Tor in my Brooks Cascadias ~ an item not best suited for such activities ~ when I slipped, and I found out the hard way that in an argument 'twix near-bare ankles and granite, granite wins. My ankle clobbered the granite in quite a modest way, but the result was instantaneous. How was I supposed to get off the Tor and back to the car?

Needless to say, as I am writing this from the comfort of my cottage, I did manage it, but I shall not be out running again for a wee while.

Swollen, sore and decidedly uncomfortable.

Ouch, sounds painful! It does make you think about what you would do if you were seriously injured somewhere quite isolated. I hope you always take a phone with you. - or would your trusty hound go and fetch help like Lassie?

Hope you get better soon.

No phone, because there is no reception. Thankfully I wouldn't have to relay on 'Lassie'. Izzie would just go and play with no thought about me...or would she just curl up and forever be remembered in the same way Gellert was?

Hope your ankle heals quickly. Glad you had a bit of a good run before it all went wrong. Take care.

Ouch, that sounds awful, poor you. Hope you're better soon x
