ate expired caviar :(

Unfortunately, didn't know my caviar (Abba Seafood, cheap quality found at IKEA) is expired and ate a tea spoon with my meal, and I feel a little bit concerned, shall I be?

not sure don't really know a lot about caviar. My oh use to always eat things past the date on the packet when we were in the uk - Fingers crossed you stay well as sorry to say there is nothing worse than food poisoning type thing

Is it a best before end date or a use by date? If it's best before you should be ok. If it's a use by date I'm not sure. Hope you'll be ok

I guess it's how strong your tummy is... Lots of acid in there to kill germs .. Drink plenty of water. I ate a gone off muscle once and it was foul. I was fine but couldn't face eating them again for 6 months! Take care and I hope you don't have any ill effects...

If it was in a can then it will probably be fine, but it does depend on how much out of date it was.

I agree with IT, I think if its in a can it should be okay.

I found a tin of mandarin oranges in my desk drawer at work last week , wasn't till I had eaten them that I noticed the date was best before 2010 !

Mind you , Caviar might be a different kettle of fish , not that I want to alarm you or anything , sorry, I'll shut up now xxx

it was okay I guess, I felt nauseated a bit, maybe of all the stuff I've heard about in the internet, but I believe I'm lucky, had water, and a spoon of good honey, and had a good night sleep.

Well I suppose this is a community that talks a lot about 'runs'... I'm no great expert on caviar poisoning but in case I ever get it I shall remember the water and honey remedy - glad you survived

Nah, just cos it expired doesn't mean it's necessarily unfit. You'll soon find out !
