This morning i was early did all my jobs, put on 2 loads of washing before 10am to ensure when repair guy came i was ready to run as soon as he left. Well 11am reared its head and no repair guy, text the oh and then got an email half an hour later saying he got the day wrong it is Tuesday not Monday. Its only set to be 24 degrees today so i thought ok i can do this. Off i set first 1km i thought maybe i am just not in the mood anymore. I suppose it didn't help that i had no plan - no idea what distance or route i was planning to run.

Then i thought why not try for 11km its a perfectly nice day your out know and it will give you another little challenge. I estimated my route and off i set breaking it into small sections to make it more manageable.

I know its not ground breaking but 11.37km in 1:13 - that a new record in terms of distance.

After i finished my run i headed to the second park to do some stretches and it was nice to see a class of students (12-14 guessing) all on bicycles for their p.e lesson what fab idea. I was thinking that would never happen in the uk between the health and safety aspect and completing paper work. The teachers cycled behind without a care in the world - there was no need for army precision, i didn't see the teachers saddled down with water or first aid kits just a nice day to cycle around the park.

The plan of action for the rest of the week is JM tomorrow, rest Wednesday, Race/hill training thursday, JM on Friday, Run Saturday or Sunday in Vina del Mar (hopefully) - if we we will get to seaside in one piece and not get stuck in too much traffic, then it will a run along the sea front.

thanks it was my first time beyond 10km so next attemp will be 12km which will be a bit of a challenge for me. I am lucky even though i run in a city it is very geared up for cyclists and runners the path I run has statues, fountains, exercise machines even play areas. In santiago there are serveral of these paths and they are so well maintained. I have not been out any day when people aren't mowing the grass, cleaning the fountains, watering the trees and grass or racking up the leaves. Also at night all the routes are lit but I am not sure how safe I would feel running at night alone.

That's a great start to Monday Vixchile! Great time too. A run along the sea front sounds fab.
