The second of my six one-a-month 10k events happens this Saturday morning at the Olympic Park, Stratford and I'm looking to improve on my 98th place out of 106 and 1h3m58s last time. I have a healthy respect for the distance, which I find a great challenge and despite having done countless 5ks over the past year and a bit, I've probably done no more than 20 or so runs of 10k or more. If you're ever in London and have your kit bag with you (of course you will....) then I recommend a run along the paths in the park. The surface is pretty much perfect.
I've had a good warm up this week - 14k last Saturday at a leisurely place followed by two 5ks this week, the second one this morning at just a smidge over 30 minutes being my best for a couple of months, so fingers crossed, things are looking good. There's another goody bag and medal involved, so don't hold me back!
Wish me luck - I'll report back after the event!

Good luck Rob. It must feel like running on hallowed ground, competing at the Olympic Park. Have a wonderful time and fingers crossed, you may knock a second or two off your time. Have fun
Good Luck Rob- I am sure you will do great and you sound very prepared for this race. I must admit I am getting rather jealous with all this talk of medals.
