haven't posted for a while. I am a teacher in a city secondary school, and if any of you are in a similar position, you might understand. The six week holiday provided opportunities for eating and drinking which were more extensive than if at school. For those of you who are not teachers, I might add that we do make up for the holidays by working at least 12 hour days during term time. So, not much weight loss in Summer, and only ran maybe once or twice a week. Back to school - persuaded hubby to have a go. We started with the week one of the C25K programme and he did well - I have to say I found it less easy than I expected because with him, I was probably running a bit faster than I did it the first time round. However since week two, hubby has had a bad knee. Then ( and this is where the fellow teachers will - I hope - sympathise, ) we had an unannounced OFSTED inspection - just arrived at 8 am. - followed by open evening, then an internal departmental inspection - STRESS!!!! Have only been dong one run a week - about 2-3 km over the woodland paths - really enjoying it when I actually get out . Just do 2-3 km with dog trotting beside me - no Laura, no music, no real goal or target ( enough of those at work). Maybe will gradually extend the distance, but rather just enjoy it and do what feels right on the day.

KK is spot on, better to do what you enjoy best! and running is a great stress reliever :) and if you feel that you are not "doing enough" have a look at this:
