Afternoon all... Aussie here...
Well, a cheeky 5K this morning after the school run... and an admission... I walked... twice... Now - not because of my ankle, but because I was a very naughty Aussie and didn't take my usual pre-run fuel or water on board... and I got a bad stitch... twice... that's my lesson learned...
I can feel the fitness returning and I was just having a look on Garmin Connect at my running history... If I told you that in August I ran almost 125KM and then in September I only got in 42KM... In some ways, I'm not surprised by the injury... there was a jump from 66KM in July which means we had:
July - 66KM
Aug - 125KM
Sep - 42KM
That was clearly a fairly bad idea... too eager! Now I'm getting back into it though... slowly slowly... Hope you're all going well - good luck on Parkrun tomorrow and for all of you racing soon!
My next run will be an 8 mile trial run on Sunday before the "Kingston Run Challenge" on the 12th October in Kingston Upon Thames, passing by Hampton Court Palace... 8.2 miles and pacers... I am going to go easy and start behind the 11 min/mile pacer and try to catch the 10 min/mile pacer over the last 4 miles... Looking for a finish under 1:25 (but not going to push too hard on the ankle)... that's quick enough for me alright!
I'm running this one for charity and I've raised over £150 for Sparks already so nothing is going to stop me crossing that finish line!
Happy running y'all..
