Was going to the gym to do my normal treadmill, run but my daughter wanted me to dye her hair.... time is precious, so I thought ok I will run on our home treadmill and save the traveling time to do her hair. Well even with the doors open the conservatory was hotter than I thought it was as I was dripping after the first 10 mins and the belt kept sliding, so it felt like I was running on the road hitting various black ice spots - on the second 10 min run I had to resort to a very fast walk in fear of coming out the back of the conservatory and not earning the £250 from you have been framed and walking around my house for the last 5 mins warm down.

It has knocked my confidence a bit and trying to decide if I repeat D2, but at the gym or just bite the bullet and go for another mission impossible and run for 25 mins tonight. After the euphoria of running for 20 mins last week and feeling on cloud 9 I have hit a needle as my bubble has burst. Also after all that did not do my daughters hair as she could not find the application brush grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Any advice would be great :)

Move on. Run 3.

I know about the belt slipping on the treadmill, it's a nasty feeling, puts you off your stride. It sounds like it was 'technical' reasons the run was so hard (belt, temperature, thoughts of going flying) rather than fitness reasons. Go for run 3, you are most likely ready for it. If it doesn't work then do run 2 again and then go for run 3 again. Do it where you normally run though.

No belt slipping and deep concentration and focus, but I did it :) Thanks for the reply to my post :D

It was just a bad run. Don't take it to heart. Move on. Good luck! :)

That's not a bad run, that's a bad day !! Move on !

Blimey! Sounds like a good training run to prepare you for wintry conditions! Isn't it amazing how much it matters to us that we have a good run and yet not that long ago (in my case) any run would have been a minor miracle! You will be back on form for the next one and congratulations for persevering despite the odd odds :D

Thanks for the sound advice and help, off out in a minute and gonna give it a bash at the gym - lets see if I can technically run lol 20 mins last week seemed impossible, so whats another 5 mins between me and a proper treadmill, think the thought of no more baby steps and all giant leaps from now on both a little daunting and exciting in equal measures. I want to be a graduate and see this through so off I go :D
