I have to confess something to all of you lovely people...
After graduating in the summer, I've been quietly and determinedly trotting out 5k runs at Newbury Park Run, and gradually increasing my running distance for my 'long' run in the week. I cannot confess to having much of a weekly plan so far, other than ParkRun/LongRun/Intervals.
Well, I completed my 7th Park Run yesterday, and it was the first time that I did not get a personal best
In fact, I got exactly the same time as last week 26:59 and so I'm happy with that.
BUT the big news is that I signed up for my first 10k run... 'The 10k Muddy MoRun 2014' at Swinley Forest, Berkshire. It is on 1st November, and is the first event in the Movember series mo-running.com (finisher's medals look great). To be honest, I've only just noticed the word Muddy in the title, and a bit worried now.
So, my training plan has been provided by ASICS and from here I just need to get the k's under my belt. It is going to be an adventure, and a great cause. Happy running!

Yeah MUD!!!!! I don't mind running but never in mud. I'd hate it I know I would. Yuk
10 k is a good distance to run and I think you will enjoy running them. I say "them" as once you've done one you'll want to do another. It's a satisfactory distance I reckon. 5 k is over and done with in no time but a 10 k is better, more satisfactory some how. Worth getting your togs on for, if you know what I mean.
Well done on your brilliant 5 k time! You must be very pleased with that
Lucky you! I'd love to do one of these, a great cause, and I've heard you get a 'tach medal too!
