Farewell week 7. Hello Autumn.

Evening lovely runners :)

Just back from my final 25 minute run - and am glad to say that all went well. Week 7 and I have settled our differences and agreed to part as friends. It's been a turbulent few days punctuated by struggling, boredom, exhaustion, gremlins, confidence knocks, and a fair amount of faffing about.

W7R3 was a very different run to my last few. It was cool, breezy and mizzling - and I felt much more comfortable as a result. I live, and run, in an area called Dark Peak, and the hill nearest to me is called Bleaklow. Today it had a definite Autumnal feel - worthy of the place-names. For the past few weeks it's been a mixture of oppressive heat and spectacular but out-of-character vistas. The Peak District bathed in sunshine is breathtaking and exhilarating, but I'm glad that we're heading back to the more familiar pattern of dramatic cloud formations and the odd bit of gloom!

Entirely distracted by the changes on my woodland trail, and again running without Laura, the 25 minutes flew by. I felt comfortable and controlled and very satisfied with my progress. At the end I felt like I could run for oooh let's says another 180 seconds or so. Which is convenient as I'm just about ready to meet week 8 :)

Happy running this weekend all :)

I just finished week 7 and feel I could run ... um maybe 10 yards more ? .... Next run Monday 28 mins. No rose wine for me tomorrow (and that's going to be hard as I am spending tomorrow with the in-laws ....)

Have a leap of faith - I seemed to feel this every time I went up a week. It works, somehow - I don't know how, but we always seem to step up to the new challenges :) Enjoy (?) the in-laws sans vino, and let us know how week 8 begins. Are you excited to meet Julie? :D

Of course! I've heard so much about her I feel I know her already!!!

How lovely to run in the cool and mizzle! I'm so looking forward to some cooler runs myself! Good luck with the final weeks, nearly there!

Yes, as long as it's not too 'orrible, the cooler weather is definitely more pleasant to run in :)

Good luck with the rest of week 6!

Dark Peak looks amazing - what a fantastic place to run. Good luck with Week 8 - you're nearly there. The extra 3 minutes aren't too bad as you've already discovered - certainly not worth having kittens over! D'you have Debbie Harry on your playlist? :)

I'm definitely going to put Debbie Harry on my playlist the next time I abandon Laura - marvellous suggestion! :) But for now I have to meet Julie...

The Peaks are amazing. I run on part of the Trans Pennine Trail which is very civilised and easy going, undulating rather than hilly :). The surrounding hills make an awesome backdrop though sometimes I feel I should be listening to the likes of "O Fortuna" or "Ride of the Valkyries" !
