I blame you lot...

Up till now the only racing I've done was the 5K Race for Life back in June (Graduated just prior to this) and I've had my eye on running something in the Bournemouth Running Festival in October - you lot signing up for a whole raft of races and I've took the plunge and entered the 10km on the day before entries closed! I'm irrationally scared of races (not being able to finish) and know I can run 10km (I do it at least twice a week!) but I'm super excited too!

We're a bad influence, us lot! :D

Great to hear, Karlotta; that's a decision you won't regret at all. Not only will you finish, you'll do it in style and have nothing to worry about! :-) You can run 10K already, as you do at least twice in a week ; you're about to run 10K like you normally do, but only this time, you'll be rewarded with a shiny shiny medal and some cool stuff at the end of it!

Congratulations on entering; you'll do great so don't worry! :-)

Is it a bad sign that now I've signed up for one I'm having a little google for some others?

No, that's completely normal. I'd be concerned if you weren't doing that! :D It's ridiculously addictive!

You can do it! You just have to know it....and you do already, you just told us!!

Congratulations on signing up. I think everyone gets nervous. I know I do, but nerves can so easily feel like excitement if you let it :-)

Oh, its a fab feeling signing up for a race ! Ive only done a R4L in June too, but in May this year, I said to myself " Next year Im going to do the Great Manchester Run " so I have signed up for it and I am !

I think its great to have a goal, something to aim for, mind you I suppose I will be nervous as it gets closer, theres ages to go yet, but it just adds to the excitement I think.

Good luck ! :-) xxx

I've got a horrible feeling I might have a half marathon somewhere in my future too... Just a bit too tempting to have something to really aim for!

Yep,it's what happens. I went from c25k graduation in March to doing some 5 & 10ks and then a marathon on 2 August. I say 'doing' not running because I walked a fair bit of it but did it in 6hrs 34mins.

I didn't enter it though - it was a 59th birthday present from a very committed running friend. I am now looking for a severe open water swimming event to enter her for her birthday!

Enjoy and go for half marathon.

Yup, me too, just found a Rudolph Run in Cambridge in December, that sounds like fun!
