Week 8 run 2 done but not really there yet...

Well its been a long time coming this far... I started the process back in June (the 9th to be precise). I have missed the odd run, redone the odd week and run, never injured myself but felt pretty knackered and broken on occasion. Every run has been outside first thing in the morning.

I now realise I only have 4 runs until I have to think "what next". My disappointment is that although I run for 28 minutes I am nowhere near 5km, in fact 3.25km today :(

How do I learn to run that bit faster now? I am very happy with the running for 28 minutes (in fact I think that is pretty darn amazing but...)

I'm heading out for week 8.2 later and am also starting to think about what I shall do next. I am also delighted at having run for 28 mins. I never thought I would. So big well done from me. I have loved the structure is C25k, it's so much easier when someone is telling me what to do. My pace goes up and down. I think this is something I will learn with time but having a garmin on my last 2 runs has helped as it constantly shows your pace and I keep a check on it.

Not sure I can answer that, I am on w7r3 next time and get to 3.4k but I am not worried about that, I run at 6k and just push on for the last minute or 2 to 7k but I want to graduate and then build up the speed and not worry about the speed just yet, I am going to take a look at c25k+ after graduation and see how that goes. Good luck!

I would say don't worry about your distance it will come, your running for 28minutes and that's amazing, think back to week one. The c25k promises you will be able to run for 30minutes and that's what you will be able to do. I can't do 5km in 30minutes, having said that you will find that you will able to 5km it might take a bit longer.

After the programme I would run 30minutes a few more times and the build up slowly, change your route is also good and try the stepping podcast, Laura is back and she will help you with your pace. Then try the speed and stamina podcasts. If I was in the uk I would have done a park run as well. There is lots to keep you motivated with running.
