I'm addicted...

Okay, so Sports Direct had a sale on Karrimor gear... Don't look at me like that! A couple of long sleeve thermal tops (2 for £18), a couple of tech shirts (2 for £12), a warmer long sleeve top for the "proper cold" days, a lightweight jacket and a foam roller was also added to the booty... Oh, and some gloves and hat as well...

And you thought you ladies could shop!?

Mrs Aussie picked up two long sleeve tech tops too (2 for £12).. :)

Happy running!

Haha! I was chuckling away reading this, then I realised that at the same time I was thinking, "oh I must myself along to SD and see what bargains I can get". Not so funny after all when I think of the state of my bank account after buying my garmin last week!

Agree Miss Sparkle, my bank account is shot due to this running malarkey. On the plus side my new shoes turned up today and I can't wait to take my Garmin out for run number two tomorrow :D I'm eagerly awaiting all the winter running gear hitting the shelves ;)

in reply to Lovefood1984

See - that's why I snapped up the long sleeve tops and jackets today... bargains I tell ya! Bargains... :) And with winter just around the corner I'll be thankful for them soon enough... :)

It's already turned cold, this weekend it may be time to pack away my summer clothes and get out the winter wardrobe. Here's to shopping (and lots of running bargains!)

The main warehouse is near me. I have to physically restrain myself or my car mysteriously drives there all on its own and I seem powerless to stop it. When I was there last the Nike lady told me that everything would soon have to go to make way for autumn stock. OMG. I daren't go again. I'll soon have to go into rehab! Heelllllp

Apologies for being a bit dumb but what is the foam roller for?? x

poppypug profile image
poppypugGraduate in reply to Lorraine1108

Hi Lorraine, it is very popular on here for smoothing out tight muscles , I am not sure how it works as I haven't used one myself, but I think you roll it against the affected body part , they come in all shapes , colours and sizes , I believe :-)

I didn't have a clue what it was in the photo before Curly pointed it out :-) xxx

I believe they're for kind of self-massage. You pop it on the floor and basically slide yourself over it as it rolls underneath. Theres some good videos on youtube.

I may just have to get one myself ;-)

I'll put it down to peer pressure from you lot.

in reply to MitBeds

That's the one... Self massage and torture device... AWESOME for calves, shins and thighs... YouTube shows you how! ;)

Ha ha! Nice one Aussie. I avoided sports shops like the plague before I fell off the wagon and got back into running (and this is a girl who hates shopping). But now I find myself walking past anything resembling a sports shop thinking 'ooooh, nice trainers....' lol. Gotta love SD for a baaaargin, eh? : ))

That's some good prices, and the long sleeve tops sounds just perfect. Maybe a trip to SD is on the cards :)

Foam roller is for easing those tired muscles. You roll yourself over them. Beware, they can hurt like hell! But as they say 'no pain, no gain' and they apparently can really fix aching muscles before they start to ache.

in reply to Sue_Reading

If you look on YouTube there are videos to show you how to do it.. I use the roller on calves and shins mainly.. Hurts like hell but works a treat!
