I see that the Mail on Sunday has an offer on the Fitbit flex. Do any of you lovely people out there use one already? What do you think? Is it worth a £64 investment or does it make sense to spend more for a garmin or similar?
Anybody use a Fitbit flex?: I see that the Mail... - Couch to 5K
Anybody use a Fitbit flex?
I don't have a flex, but i have a One (i prefered not to have it on my wrist as mine clips on my bra strap and isnt noticeable)
I do find it useful (there are quite a lot of posts on here about fitbits generally), not jut for steps, but I like the "active minute" functions, stair counter and sleep tracker too, although have to be careful not to get obsessive about it!
Its deifnitely helped me get fitter - I will often head off round the block of an evening just to get up to the 10k steps. Yesterday i finally hit the thirty thousand steps in a day milestone which i'm pretty impressed by
I havent tried any of the others to compare it to, but i prefered the design, screen and style of the One to the others (I really hated the fonts and chunkiness of some of them!)
. Having said that, 64 is a pretty good price for a fitbit not off ebay... and most of the similar devices wont compete pricewise i think. Garmin's gaily activity tracker is about 80-100 i think (or more) but of course do different things to the running watch
There is a nhs c25k forum on fitbit - and its nice to follow others progress!
Let us know how you get on
I've got a Fitbit One too for the same reasons as Gnimia - I didn't want a wrist band on all the time. I love my fitbit and it syncs with My Fitness Pal too so I can track my calorie burn vs calories in as well.
I find it really motivating to get me moving especially on days where I've had meetings and haven't moved about as much as usual at work.
Thanks Karlotta - I might investigate the Fitbit one although not on offer
