Having entered and finished a couple of 'official' events this summer, I registered with the runbritain.com website so I could see if anything else Is happening that I might want to enter. Now, although the user interface for registration is truly awful, if you persevere with it, you can register your participation in recent events for which the website will give you an official handicap rating and, at the end of the month, a ranking amongst all registered runners in the UK!
I'm not suggesting we start comparing against each other, only that you might be interested to find where you are relative to others. Anyhow, having finished a 5k event five minutes ahead of Paula Radcliffe (yes, it really was that Paula Radcliffe) back in July, I'm expecting a top ten ranking when the next set of results are released.
.....the fact that she had to run while being tethered to a man wearing a blindfold for an eyesight charity is her problem and not mine!
