So I took the advice...

& have rested my shin which had been really hurting & it's feeling better. I guess it will hurt again when I start up again so I need to get myself kitted out with some proper running shoes but im raring to get back into it.

I've only completed the first 2 weeks so I think I'll start again from the beginning & make sure I take it slow. Think it will be even harder now the weathers taken a turn for the worse but hopefully I will get out & do it as I enjoyed it so much (considering I was so anti running beforehand). Wish me luck :-)

It's great you want to dive back in. Just take it super slow and enjoy your successes. I'll be looking forward to hearing how it goes. Best of luck to you!

I had the same problem, good pair of running shoes make all the difference.

Good for you! This time around, as well as going slower try taking smaller strides. There is often a tendency to think that when you are running you need to be really stretching out. You don't! A much better running action is to keep you running steps short - short light steps. This will put much less stress in your joints and leg bones - particularly your shins. So, go slow, take small steps - and let us know how you get on!

Thank you all, the support on here is brilliant :-) x

I got shin splints after week 2 too, frustrating isn't it? I had my weeks all worked out, I was traveling and thought I would get week 7 under my belt while I was somewhere flat... it wasn't to be and I so wanted to get back out there! Do get new shoes, they make all the difference.
