To date all my C25k runs have been on dead flat trails beside a canal, but today I tried a new route, which is in woods, so shaded and much cooler, even by mid morning, and am able to run with the dog, so double benefits. It is a fairly short loop - just over 1.2 km, according to Ye Olde Garminne but mostly a very gentle descent, then a section of steep hill. I have been keen to get some hill work in my runs and have done a couple of short hill only sessions recently, but this was the first in my programme runs.
I didn't have my iPhone with me today so just running by the watch. Did 4 and a half laps running at a decent pace in 33 mins. I did have to walk for 60 seconds at the top of each ascent but I'm going to allow myself that as a trade-off against the hill and the fact that even with a total of 4 mins walking I still did a bit over 5k in 33 mins.

I find a change of location can really refresh my enthusiasm for a run. I think you've been brave to change things up and see no reason at all why you shouldn't claim this run- better than being bored to death going around and around the same forgiving route.
I hope the next two runs go well for you, bring on graduation
I've always mixed up my running by doing intervals, hill work (very like yours on forest tracks) and a long steady run. Its quite nice to run naked now and again too (no head phones) Well done much more interesting for your dog too, but no swim for him/her at the end perhaps!!!!
