Welcome and lots of luck for the challenge ahead! The programme is fabulous and really works - just don't try to rush things and make sure you take the rest days to allow your body to repair and rebuild. I completed early last year at age 61 - overweight and horribly out of fitness! Still running though, and a bit lighter. There are several older success stories on here too - all ready to cheer you on your way! Have fun, Linda x

Good luck Paddy. I graduated in April and will be 65 next month and am recovering from ill health whilst our daughter is currently on week six having also been ill. I too used to run a lot but that was nearly twenty years ago. Just take it easy, follow the instructions, remember to congratulate yourself for taking this first step and be proud of your achievements.

Hi paddy. I returned to running at age 51 after a 20 year break; having tried to get back to it before and failed. C25K really works if you persevere and follow the programme. I was so unfit that I started running where no one would see me (no one can hear you scream on an empty beach in March) and I didn't 'go public' until I had stopped running like a lame tortoise, which was about week 5 for me : / Good luck and keep us updated on your progress. Prepare to be amazed!

Sally forth, future hero of the North. Fight all and sundry. Don't let the nhs get you!

WELCOME!!! You have just found what is probably the most supportive and encouraging forum on the web. All of us on here want you to succeed. With a little effort and determination on your part, you will be the proud 'owner' of a graduate badge in a mere 9 weeks.

If you follow the directions listed, remember to take rest days, do stretches and don't give up, you will get there. There are some real life-changing stories on here, so there are NO excuses for not completing it. If you do feel you need support, drop us a line and you will get all the support you will ever need.

One last thing ~ you don't need to take Laura with you. As long as you have a watch to time yourself with you won't need an iPod.

Enjoy your running.

This is an amazing plan followed by amazing people so follow it as they recommend and listen to Laura and you'll definitely succeed.
