Swollen Foot was RSI (as a result of running) oh dear.......

I haven't run for a week because my right foot swelled for no reason. I thought I'd better not risk a run so have been very good, but frustrated. Anyway, it wasn't getting any better so I went to the doctor this morning and she told me that it was repetitive strain injury on the tendon between my two middle toes, most likely caused by running! Then she gave me the bad news. Rest, ice, anti inflammatories and NO running until it heals.

This is ironic because I have been trying to change my running style ( due to other injuries!) and landing on my toes and look where that's got me!! "I don't believe it!"

Will keep reading your great posts and feeling very envious that I'm not running but I'll be back!

Hope it gets better soon!

When I started 4 weeks ago I was a bit confused by running style as there are conflicting opinions. I asked my son's middle distance running coach who advised me to ideally land mid foot. Rolling from ball to heel. Hope this helps. (She's a qualified English Athletics coach)

Yes there is lots of conflicting advice on proper landing. So confusing. Perhaps my toes weren't ready for all that pounding! Thank you for your good wishes.

Oh dear, another one laid up! Just rest up and try and be patient. Big ask I know but you just have to allow yourself to heal

Keep checking in for a catch-up and we will help keep you chirpy

You've got to laugh Misswobble. What are we all like? B2C(back to couch!). I have a mental image of all us injured C25K's lined up somewhere with our various ailments/injuries. What a giggle that would be! I will take time out. Doctor said I can cycle so I'll try that.

Will definitely keep checking in. Thank YOU for being so chirpy!

I'm always chirpy! No point in getting down as it won't make things heal any quicker. I cheered myself up by making a bowl of no fat yog Eton mess. Nice but not so naughty

I am on that line up too. Went cycling the other day, which was fine but got a bit of a sore rear end afterwards! Only temporary though - not an injury! Not being able to run and having various health probs was really starting to get me down but I have decided to be my usual cheery self because being down and fed up doesn't help at all.

Hope your toes and feet get better soon :)
