The was only my second 10k race, we were expecting rain on the day , but it was just the opposite, the sun came out for the whole run. I thought I had pushed it too much by ending up in the green runners but to be honest it was just about right.
The great thing they had were pacers with times on them. So for the first 4k I kept up with the 60 minute pacer and then slowed down and lost her.
I managed to scrape a minute of my last time for 10k
so I was 1 hour 3 mins............. very pleased with that and not tired even at the end.
The route was new to me but that part of the fun of it.
So enjoyed this well organised event.
Can't wait for next year.

Fab BC! A great time - and a much prettier medal than we got in Bristol!! We were lucky with the weather too, it was blowing a hoolie while we were waiting around but once we got going I didn't really notice it. Did notice the 'sunshine and showers' though...
Great time!! The medal is lovely isn't it??!! I found it almost too hot - bizzare for Glasgow!! Fab route and very well organised - bring on next year!
Brilliantly well done, fellow 10k-er! I found chasing the pacer in my race made all the difference too.
I used to live in Glasgow so have experienced the 'weather'... That said I remember one summer when it was blazing hot and everyone was in A&E with sunburn.
