Hi, I'm new here, just finished week 3 and really looking forward to starting week 4. I'm trying not to think about THAT run in week 5 and just taking each run as it comes. Nice to meet you all :-)

Hi, welcome!

It seems like a very positive and supportive forum, and lots of encouragement to be found here :-)

THAT run has been one of my best runs! You're on a real high to know you can manage such a long run and your hard work and commitment have paid off.

Enjoy it because it's week 6 that's more challenging xxx

Welcome to the gang, well done for getting started. And beware, this running lark is highly addictive. Good luck.

'THAT' run is the best run because you realise just how far you've progressed in 5 short weeks. You'll love it. Welcome aboard!

Hi dippytrout. Well done for getting to the end of week 3 : ) I was oblivious to 'that run' as I was also taking it one run at a time, but be prepared to be amazed! I am at the end of week 7 and after puffing and panting my way through week 1 I would never have believed that I would get this far. Whats more I was out running in the rain last night and suddenly realised that (a) I was actually running (rather than moving only slightly faster than people walking their dogs!) and (b) I was enjoying myself. Enjoy the next few weeks and welcome to the club : )

Well done on getting past week 3 and for coming out of the woodwork and joining us. Don't worry about THAT run, as everyone has said, it can frequently turn out to be one of the best runs you do. It seems to have a reputation it doesn't deserve (in my view) and I think everyone who has been nervous, or even terrified of it, posts afterwards to say they did it okay. You will as well but there is a lot of running to do before then - running that will train you up to the run you are worried about. Good luck with week 4 and best wishes.

Just concentrate on each week as you do it and don't think ahead. You'll be ready for week 5 when you've finished week 4 and at the end of each subsequent week you'll wonder what you worried about.

Good luck

That run can be just great & if it's not then nothing ventured nothing gained. I loved it personally. I repeatedly told husband & daughter "I can run 20mins" all weekend & bless them they didn't complain. I think they were secretly impressed or maybe just speechless. But you are ahead of yourself, you've the whole of week 4 & runs 1&2 of week 5 to prepare yourself for that run. When you do get there. Break it up into 5mins slots & congratulate yourself when you've completed each slot, distract yourself by composing the great blog you are going to write when you get back, think of us cheering you on & remember to slow down- you can always speed up at the end if you're that way inclined. It is a mind over matter run this one. Tell yourself I can do this because I've prepared. Finally remember Laura believes in you.

Thanks waletta, and everyone else. I'm really enjoying it so far, and can't believe I can actually do each run as they come. THAT run doesn't frighten me, I know that the runs in week 4 and beginning of week 5 will prepare me for it. I'm just impatient and want to do it now!!!!!
