Today I saw my first power walker. My limited understanding is that it is a particular style of walking - as they do in the Olympics. I caught up with a woman at around kilometre number 4 at Parkrun today and, looking close at her. thought "This woman is not running - she's walking!!!!" And she was going for it!! I only managed to get past her - running as fast as I could to finish 5K's.

It seems that there is a particular skill to it and frankly , I have never seen anybody doing it out on the roads here -- just runners
