For those of you just starting and filled with trepidation.....

I started the c25k in January (obviously a NY resolution) and had tried to run before but had always been dogged with a dodgy 45 year old footballer's knee. The longest I had ever run in my life (including school) was probably a couple of mile and the thought that I could run for 30min non stop was difficult. However, on Saturday I completed the 5k Parkrun in under 30mins and did another 30min+ run this morning. As the programme builds up your stamina and strength, I've had very little knee problems (in fact, the worst difficulty was shin splints). My wife (who is a Parkrun addict) is now worried I beat her time! It just shows that anyone can do it, and I can't recommend this programme enough.

I hated running at school.. I was rubbish at it and pretty much was never going to do it again unless I was about to die, but here I am one run away from the end of the programme and so glad I started. I echo your sentiments entirely and well done with the parkrun.. considering signing up to a local one when I get up to 5k (I am still a bit slow!)

Thanks, this is helpful - when you set out its very daunting.

Do not feel daunted, feel liberated. You are doing this for you and you will complete it! Trust in the programme, it works. I could not run for 2mins at the start and my last run was 11k! Lots of motivation and support on here.Good luck!

Thanks. I am finding myself enjoying it (and shocked I am enjoying it)

I cannot recommend this programme too highly. It's motivated and helped so many of us. Graduation looks a long way off when you first start but it's surprising how quickly the time goes and amazing the progress made. Best wishes.
