Week 6 Run 3... Nerves nerves nerves

Anyone else been as terrified by this beast, as me?

So I managed the 20 minutes last week. And I've managed the first two runs of the week, but my god that two 10 minutes was tough. Going out to tackle the big boy this afternoon, and absolutely scared. No other words for it. I have butterflies and everything...

You will be fine, honest. I found the shorter runs in W6 surprisingly tough after doing the 20 minutes in W5, but the big one was perfectly do-able. Feels a bit like W5R3 except you discover a bit extra in the tank. Enjoy it!!!

Calm down dear! As the good old MW would say. No pressure at all on you. This is just between you and the lovely Laura, who you know is the loveliest lady ever. She's not going to bawl you out like Jillian Michaels. LOL So, go easy on yourself. Set out to ENJOY it. If you think about enjoying it rather than it being like going to the dentist then you might just surprise yourself

In your mind's eye, picture us lot waiting for you at the end. Shouting and cheering you on. C'mon, c'mon. Go Beth, goooooooooooooooo. Let us know how you get on

Great advice! W6r3 is my next run & I'm equally scared so I'll definitely try that lol.

Haha you guys are the best. I still somehow have absolutely no confidence in myself being able to do this.. Which is odd. I'm not an unconfident person. But I guess I've never been any good at anything athletic, so I keep on amazing myself!

I will go and enjoy it. Me and the lovely Laura, and a few slightly aggressive geese (my main route is around a huge lake.. All very scenic, but I'm more scared of the geese than the running!).

Off out in about half an hour, so I'll report back. Hopefully with good news.

Well I made it! Only just. It wasn't fast, and it certainly wasn't slick, but I did it. Glad I've got the opportunity to do it another 3 times before I have to add a few more minutes! And I've done it now, so it can only get better- right?

For now, I reckon its time to finish off a bit of work, then a long hot bath.

Excellent, well done! Must have been the thought of the geese giving chase! And yes it will get better x

Well done Beth. You made it! Go Beth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Geese are little s*ds. They are after your bread shoes. LOL Still, running away from geese is good exercise

I swear the fastest I ever run is away from the geese. The lake I run by is very beautiful, but there're literally 60 odd, of these bl**dy HUGE Canada geese. Not only do they stand in the middle of the path and not move for you, but I swear they actually go for your legs if you get too fast... Meeean beasts.
