After my run the veins on my shins are bulging a little and it feels like I'm wearing knee high socks. After run 2 of week 8 is this normal?

Question for you: are you wearing compression socks? Even if not, and they are normal knee high socks, they may be a bit too tight?

Make sure you are not getting dehydrated either.

I'm only wearing normal socks that come over my ankles. it only feels like I'm wearing knee high socks. I'll have a look for the compression socks and give them a try. Dehydration is definitely a possibility. I felt fuzzy after yesterday's run in the sun. I'm drinking a lot getting ready for tomorrow's final run 3.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Try and keep hydrated. :-) It may be worth just getting a check up with your GP just to make sure it is nothing more sinister. aplogies - I misread your question and thought you were wearing knee-high socks. Just make sure that the compression socks you get don't cut off your circulation.

I had that happen when pregnant, and was prescribed compression stockings and time to be spent with my legs elevated above heart level, especially at the first sign of the symptoms returning. Obviously, you arent pregnant, but leg veins is leg veins, I bet if you asked a doctor you will get much the same advice! Compression socks, or compression running tights.

Now that shocked me. I'm pregnant! Love it. How are yours now? I'm going to see my gp about using compression socks. I've got a compression top but can't get used to it. I bought one with a collar and I can't stand it against my throat. I'll ask him about the leggings and see what he says. Today's run was much better. I'm not feeling it half as much as run 2. I am now trying to keep my feet elevated but not above heart level. I'll give that a go over the next few days before going into week 9. Thanks for getting back to me and thanks for the initial shock of your reply. Really made me smile. Thank you.

Havent had a problem since the baby was born (he's 7 in June!). I had no idea this sort of thing could result with exercise, i would have thought exercise should prevent it! Let us know what your doc says.
