From Road... To Gym...

So my knee has now fully recovered from the slight tear I experienced just over a month ago. After advice from my GP I have ceased road running and taken the plunge to join the local gym. I've got the last of 3 induction courses on Thursday evening and then plenty of CV and strength work.

Went on the Wii last night and was startled to discover my weight has ballooned to 19 stone 4 Lbs...looks like the gym are going to be seeing a hell of a lot of me over the next few months!!!

I hope the gym works for you . When I started this programme I found a lovely place run along my local Devon canal. It has been wonderful every other day , getting out there and progressing to see further of the beauty and wildlife along with each run. I never think about the fitness side, it has become a sideline to the 'mind space' I get from running outdoors. I know you should trust your doctor but just wondered if running on softer ground like a towpath would help. Good luck and weight does drop off with running! I bought a forerunner the other day and I burn't off 500 calories doing just less of 7k. :)
