W8R1 and then some...

So I posted last week about doing a long run with my hubby, the offer of a Chinese lunch was too tempting! He offered to take a bag of stuff (he's in the army and can run forever whilst carrying about 100kg on his back, sickening!) so we would be fresh for lunch. I have to admit that I was REALLY nervous and the first 5 minutes were horrible, I felt really out of breath and very very self conscious but then I got into the rythym and started to breath easier. He was really good at running at my pace and I never felt that I needed to go at a pace that was too fast for me. I didn't stop once except to cross the road and clocked up...wait for it... 8.58km in 58 minutes!!!! This is wholly down to Couch25k and my husband cannot contain his surprise that I actually did it, given that he has never ever seen me run! Apparently I also did 5km in 33 mins so technically I have achieved the aim of the plan but I'm going to carry on with the rest of it because I want to graduate!

Hooray for C25K, still in shock at the effect it's had on my entire life!!!!

Wow! That's excellent! I've been wondering whether you had that Chinese! Sounds like you've really got into the running with such great times. Well done.

Yay for hubby too - glad you have such a supportive run buddy. It can be difficult running with someone else, particularly if you have different fitness levels. However his thoughtful support sounds wonderful, and probably helped contribute to your overall motivation to keep going during this run. Best of luck to both of you.
