Not sure if everyone is already aware of this website but just stumbled upon walkjogrun.net It looks to be very useful for planning routes. Unlike all the other websites that let you upload your route after you have run it this one lets you plot a route out on a map so you know how far it is before you set off. It is also a good source of routes that other people have recorded in your area.

Useful route planning website
I stumbled on that last weekend too and it does seem quite handy. Another one I found at the same time was runningmap.com. I think I prefer walkjogrun.net at the moment though as it uses the visual overlay onto Google maps as opposed to just the map itself (so I can remember which hedge I want to run alongside!).
I like the route mapping tool on the good running guide. You don't have to register to use it either. I found it when I was looking for an offroad mapping tool. Many just sticks to roads and can't map where you run through the wide blue uonder
walkjogrun, net has some brilliant training plans that you can follow.. it texts first thing in the morning to let you know what you are doing that day,, including telling you to Rest!!..
I'm planning to use the WalkJogRun 10K schedule when I graduate from Laura in 3 weeks time. I have entered a 10K in June!
