Just signed up for HM in May. Any advice on best way to train for it.

My longest run has been 10.5 miles a few months ago. This HM is supposed to be a bit of a grueller as it is very hilly. I run 8k twice a week currently with one 12k, usually on a Sunday morning. This is a different league though and i'm getting conflicting theories thrown at me. Some say to trian right up to HM as quickly as possible, whilst others say to gradually get there and do it say 2 weeks before the event then shorter runs in that two weeks before. Confusing!

Have you found any answers yet? I am not at that sort of distance yet. I know juicyju has been training for HM, she writes brilliant posts so it might be worth keeping a lookout for her posts.

No but I guess I'll just have to wing it. I think I'll just keep increasing by a bit every week until I get there. My last run was 9.5mls so it shouldn't take too long. I'm working away this week though and staying in the country where it is pitch black in the morning and evening (not to mention the relentless rain and snow) so I probably won't get to run until Sunday.
