Will this get better in run 2...my legs felt like lead and I nearly gave up but the sense of achievement was great! I just feel like I can't face run 2.....

I did this one earlier too, it definately was tough. BUT we did it! Surely we can do it again then eh? Keep thinking about the sense of achievement.

I struggled through w4r1 on sat and felt euphoric at the end but thought there's no way I could do it again. Went out last night fully expecting not to do it and that I would need to repeat this week but somehow (by going really slow I suppose) I managed. I'm still in shock!

Trust the plan to prepare you for the next run. We are all different and the training plan is is only a guide. Most of us got through each week, despite our own self doubts. If you don't manage to finish a run, then repeat it until you can complete and then you will be ready to move on. Your self belief and confidence will grow and even though it may be difficult, you will find yourself achieving more than you could ever believe. Stick with it and in just a few weeks you WILL be running non stop for thirty minutes. Oh yes you will!!

Good luck.

I'm doing W4R2 this morning. I'm going by if we did it once, we can do it again! And looking ahead to the sense of euphoria afterwards!

I think most if us felt like that at some point To take my mind of my heavy legs and even heavier breathing I used to make up lists in my head --- sort of to do lists So instead of thinking oh no I still have 3 mins to run and would plan my day or what I was going to eat for tea or places i would like to go holiday anything really It helped me relax I still make up lists and can run for 45 mins now ( I have to say I didnt always get round to actually doing them -- especially the housework ones !!)

Hi Kizza first of all well done for keeping going right through to the end, I know it's tough I've been there I've just finished week 4 and next week is week 5 for me! This is gonna sound nuts but when I got to the point I thought I couldn't go on I used to talk to myself.....obviously I won't put everything on here but it would go along the lines of "if you've got this far then you can get right to the end" and the other one was "keep your legs going one foot in front of the other" trust me even when your legs are like lead if your mind tells your body to do something it will do it! You just have to believe in yourself xxxx also maybe take an extra days rest before your next run....give you a little more time to recover and then when you do go you'll be raring to go xxxxx good luck!

you can, you can!!! I never thought I'd be able to do wk 4 but I just completed wk5r2 today. 2 lots of 8 minutes! If you'd told me last week I could do it, I'd have laughed in your face. Trust in the plan, it really does work!
