Love the way running makes me feel! W3 R1

I haven't posted much because I wasn't sure how this was all going to work out, new year resolution was to give it a go and see, no pressure etc, I wasn't sure I was really built to run, I feel a bit like phoebe in friends, all flapping arms and legs, not enough coordination.

But I am delighted to report that I made the jump from w2 to w3 without too much difficulty and I am on cloud nine about it! Beginning of week one the thought of running for three minutes was unimaginable. I honestly was not looking forward to today but I kept calm, kept relaxed, shoulders and wrists loose, just let my feet and legs swing and guess what, it was fine!! Not sure about the man behind the hedge analogy but it made me giggle!

So to everyone starting out, this programme really is amazing and, at the risk of a cliche, really does work! Starting to look forward to my runs, as is the dog who is building up to 5k with me, not even the weather puts me off.... Feel as high as a kite right now!!

Brilliant - so nice when you can enjoy something that is also doing you good in a physical way. Happy running!

Oh well done Runlikeahare! Your post has made my day. I have Wk 3 run 1 tomorrow and I can't really imagine running for any longer than the 90 seconds in Wk 2. You make it sound do- able . Like you I am looking forward to my runs now even if I feel a bit daunted at times. Everyone on here helps too, thankyou!

Well done and keep up the good work. I was the same as you at the beginning. I wasnt sure that I would be able to finish the programme but here I am after todays 7.24k in 48mins run. I so enjoy it and really look forward to running even if its raining. I had to take 5 weeks off due to my sons injury. I hated not having time to run. Enjoy the rest of your programme. Good luck

That's so good to hear! Brilliant for you and I'm especially glad to read it as I'm going to do week 3 run 1 on Saturday, so you've given me confidence. Thank you :)

Wahhhhooooo!!! Well done. Xxx

I ran the same run this morning and had so much to concentrate on with Laura that it felt so much better than I imagined it would. Xx

Thanks everyone, I've had so much energy this afternoon that I've started a huge declutter at home, feel like my head is clearer if that makes sense?! Good luck to everyone else at the same stage, having laura chatting in my ear definitely helps, I almost forget that I'm running!

I did Wk3 Run2 yesterday. I too was amazed at managing the 3-minute intervals without feelings of desperation. On the route I'm currently using, I start running alongside a hedge, just as Laura starts talking about not bouncing!
