One step forward and two steps back

Feeling really frustrated right now, I tried another week 3 run today and seem to have strained my calf again, so no more running for a few days while it recovers. I keep telling myself slow and steady is best but don't seem to be able to stick to it when I head out.

Anyone got any tips for how I can keep my pace steady?

Sorry to hear that Andy , I can't help you with the slow pace , it's something that just comes natural to me lol .

You could try running to a song with a certain bmp (beats per minute) which would keep your pace steady. Try the following website for inspiration.

Don't worry about the time out. Just rest up, take it slowly and stretch lots. I had quite a few minor injuries at the beginning and took a long time out between some runs but got there in the end! You will too. Good luck.

Thanks for the music tip - I'll certainly give it a try, it's frustrating at the moment but on the bright side, least I don't have to go out in the cold!
