Out of action !

Why didn't I listen to my body ! . My last run was Thursday , I did 6k , at the start I could feel a slight soreness just below ankle bone left leg ,left side , it disappeared while running then towards end reappeared . It's been sore so had extra rest day & been doing r.i.c.e. . Got up before the sparrows , it's a work day & decided to do my circuit , even though area round ankle still twanged slightly . Result , had to abort run 15 mins in & hobble home , can hardly walk on it now never mind run ! God knows how I'm going to go on at work as I'm on my feet all day . Oh dear will I ever learn , !

Oh no! I feel your frustration having been hampered by injury since October. Definitely do right to give it plenty of rest, let's hope you're back in your running shoes very soon XX

Thanks Saruma , only rest I'll be getting is from the running ! I'm working all week , fingers crossed , it's not long before it's healed .

Oh no! I did similar a couple of months ago. I took nearly a month to recover I'm afraid. I found that I had to wear an ankle support for a while because I kept going over on it.

After a week, on the recommendation of a physio I started ankle strengthening exercises (see Matthew Hawkes lateral ankle sprain video on you tube) they helped enormously.

I hope it settles quickly for you.

Well I blame myself for this , should have rested longer , it was getting better & I've just put it back . Oh well we live & learn. . Are you fully recovered now ?

Ouch! You must be so frustrated not being able to run . A tip given by my taj chi instructor was to soak ankle in hot water and ground ginger I don't understand why but it really worked for me Used in Chinese medicine apparently Hope you not out of action too long

im on the mend thanks you take it easy

We sometimes have to listen to our bodies.

Do rest your injury after work, if you can.

Get better soon.

Oh no! Sorry to hear this, after work feet up and rest! I'd have a little time to rest up and then go out at maybe a slower pace, shorter distance or softer intervals to build up? It's a pain, but best to be out of action for a week then months. Chin up, it's a tiny blip on your horizon! :)
