Oh what a beautiful morning, I've just graduated. What a fabulous feeling, I've never done anything so hard. I started my journey on 14/10/13 and couldn't run for the whole 60 seconds. I would like to thank my fabulous husband and kids who have supported me throughout. My 12 year old daughter gave me her old trainers and was always happy to let me borrow her ipod. This morning she made a "well done" banner which she put up outside the house whilst I was out running and made a giant heart shaped cookie. I also want to thank my team at work who have dutifully listened to my progress and encouraged me throughout. Finally to all my on-line friends here on this site who have given sage advice and encouragement, I couldn't have done it without you, thank you. Since starting the programme my Fattytumtum is a little smaller and a lot firmer (still a long way to go), I feel fitter, look better, and it's kept me off the fags. If you're just starting out keep at it and keep using this site. if I can do it anyone can. I had to do 5 runs in wk 1 because I couldn't do the full 60 seconds.
I've decided that my next running challenge will be to build up to running round the lake at Clumber park at February half term it's about 6K, so I'll keep posting to let you know my progress. Now let me find one of the kids to work out the way to get my shiny graduation badge. Life is good. Keep running. XXXX

That was a lovely speech! Congrats on your success. Hey I was thinking of doing the Clumber park run which is held every Saturday morning. I'm a recent graduate and have not had my 5 k verified yet, except for a virtual badge on here. I thought Clumber might be the ideal place, although it's a bit aways for me to drive in my dilapidated car.Still, if it breaks down I can run home now.
So soon you're going to have to change your name to Flattytumtum?!! Congratulations, you have been and will continue to be one of the many voices encouraging me on Not long to go now, I want a banner and a cookie too LOL x
Well done .... I think the folks who are graduating at this time of year have done particularly well! If you've enjoyed/endured it so far just wait till spring and you can run in daylight, pleasant temperatures with just a hint of warmth on your back when you are running
