Brisk 5.3K walk, included 2 short jogs, I think I'm on the mend at last!

Well I'm back off the couch, my lungs are working better than they were, asthma back under control and hopefully chest infection is clear. So today I would test my old body by starting with a low impact aerobics class at the gym, it was all OK. Then after lunch off I went up through my favourite forest tracks, a bit wet and soggy leaves to negotiate but it was fine. Covered 5.3K in 56 minutes and even managed 2 x 300m jogging sessions. Decided not to push my luck though cos I know this last chest infection nearly ended up with a hospital stay so easy does it OldGirl the tracks won't disappear and there's always another day.

But you know what, I think I feel human again, I do so miss my running when I can't do it and I know I'm not on my own feeling like that am I!?! ;)

I am growing fond of your forest tracks too. Glad lungs recovering - take it easy and enjoy it!

Glad to hear you're on the mend Oldgirl! Go carefully out there!

Hasn't it been a glorious day for getting outside? I had to scrape the ice off the car this morning but it was lovely along the farm roads although had to dodge a sugarbeet tractor and trailer!

Glad your feeling better. You are right to take it steady it's always tempting to push to far to fast.

Good to hear you're feeling better and able to get out there again. It's just so frustrating when your body lets you down and you have to stop for a while - and then it takes a while to get everything working to the same extent as before! But all worth it when you can enjoy the peace of being outside.

Great to hear you are back running again. I love forest tracks too, especially at this time of year with all the autumn colours.

Good to hear from - and that you are taking your own advice of TLC. But still pretty respectable on distance and time. Lovely cheering post:-)

Hooray! OG is back. Well done. I know what you mean about being laid up and not being able to exercise properly. It's pretty miserable, but it looks like you're easing your way back into it. Take care and enjoy the smell of damp leaves and chilly air in your lungs!

So glad you're feeling better :) I was out of action for 3 months this year with Whooping Cough and it took a while to get back to my normal running routine - had to keep stopping to cough or take inhalers. Keep trying and listen to what you're body is telling you. Take care especially in this cold/windy weather as it can be tough on us asthmatics.

So pleased to read your post that you are well enough to start getting out there again. Wise woman taking time to get back up to fitness even though it's obvious you really enjoy your running. Sometimes we just need to rest up. Hope your next outing goes well.
