I ran my first Parkrun in over four months this morning. My official time came through at 30:57, now this is a personal worst for me, but I'm pleased to be back out running 5k again. As some of you know I've had some time off with back problems and sciatica, infact back in July I could hardly bend far enough to do my shoes up. I've have been seeing a physio therapist and have had acupuncture. I've been doing all my stretching exercises and last month I re-started C25K, Although I did only do the runs from weeks 1,2 and 3 once each, I followed weeks 4, 5 and 6 with Laura in my ears, but then I felt I wanted my own music back and built up my time.
Today was the first time since June that I'd run 5k, I was hoping to get round in about 34 mins so I'm really pleased with 30:57. My legs and back held out fine but my breathing was heavy, hopefully that'll improve over the next few weeks.
Now the challenge is to beat my PB of 27:37, maybe by Christmas.
