I am sure that completing c25k has improved my self-confidence. I have been quite happy working in the same school for 14 years. I have considered going for promotion, but most jobs feel far beyond me, even though my Head disagrees.
Well this week I applied for a job, and have an interview next week. I haven't had an interview for 30 years! Yikes.
I am sure it is the fact that I have proved to myself that I can be successful at something so challenging as running for 30 minutes. For a 57 year old, overweight asthmatic who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high colesterol in January 2013, the 30 minute run seemed like a pipe dream. But just look at that shiny graduate badge by my name! I did it, and I know that I can do so much more in many different areas.
Next week I will need my runs in order to keep my stress levels down. I plan a run for pleasure this evening - and will be grinning to myself most of the way because of my change of attitude.

I for one feel much more confident since I started running. I've used this opportunity to grab control of various aspects of my life and it feels great.
Good luck with next week and definitely agree that this programme builds confidence, for me it was achieving and enjoying something I never thought was achievable for me.
Its amazing just how many ways it changes us and it has given me new hope for my life......Just be sure to read the person spec thoroughly and have examples for each of the areas. If they ask you a question and you need time to think, take some sips of your water and remember to talk slowly....good luck!!!!!!
Thanks JJ. I am about to work on the person spec now. I had a good run this evening and really enjoyed it - and had time to consider how I might approach this. In July I couldn't run and think of anything else except panting and not stopping.
Good advice about the sips of water and talking slowly. Thanks
Wow! well done Susan! on both of these achievements! As someone who keeps failing at interviews to get out of my rubbish nursery nurse job I can't give any advice, just wish you luck! You can do it! x
