Does anyone know if there's a way to search a song for it's bpm?

I've used jog.fm to make a playlist by searching my pace for the bpm but I've been listening to a couple of random songs on my phone and heard a couple I wouldn't mind listening to while I run, they're fairly motivational ones!

I've got a bit fed up of my usual running playlist so bought audio fuel 'run free - first hour which is 150-165 bpm, from itunes. Really enjoying it :-)

Try Jogtunes. I always end my run with Creedence Clearwater Revival's Bad Moon Rising and it always pushes me that little bit further.

A quick search threw up this site where you can enter the title artist to get the bpm:

songbpm.com/

There are also software programmes you can download to search the music you have on your computer to find the bpm, I tried one ages ago (can't remember which) but found my favourite tracks weren't the right bpm for my pace and so decided I'd rather listen to what I liked instead.

Thanks guys, the songbpm site has been really helpful just now!

Next question: how do people know their pace? I've just gone by what mapmywalk has told me but just wanted to check!

And how do people know their brisk walking pace? i've just made the bpm a little slower but not by much i think!

There's a chart here:

run2r.com/Technical+linking...

If you know what time you run a km in you can take it from there, same for your brisk walking pace. :-)

Thanks for this, will be very helpful. I only early days right now but like the idea of some tunes as I go to help guide pace.

I've been wondering about this too. Thanks for the post - I've found the links in the replies really helpful.

Thank you guys!

Run2r gives a different bpm than jog.fm has for my pace so I may have gone wrong somewhere!

May make another play list!

Everything is giving me a different pace!! But runners world I just searched for gave me one closest to what map my walk says!!
