Took me more than 8 weeks - my first post...

I've been dipping in and out of this site - getting tips and plenty of inspiration from everyone - Thank you all.

I've been pleased to see myself progressing - slowly (5 runs in week 7). But today, Week 8 run 1, I can honestly say I really enjoyed my run.

I'd changed my route, doing one I'd not done since about week 5, so I could see the vast difference in my fitness. The weather was lovely - sunny and cool. My phone (outdated technology) let me down, but Laura had just told me I'd run for 14 minutes so I could use my watch for the rest. It was a golden moment - and it's going to be dark morning and evening before long. What to do on weekdays then? :-(

Welcome Madame truffe. We have heard lots about you - only good things. Glad you are enjoying your running. I am also worried about the dark evenings.... Plan to find a doable road run. 'IfI can go 5k I can run in the dark' is what I am saying to myself. Time will tell.

Hi deb. I'm not gonna run on roads any more than I have to. Got to protect the old joints. Think I'll use a school treadmill once a week when it's too dark/cold and wet.

I've posted a lovely to meet you on "his nibs" post before I saw this one. I don't know whether this is something you could do but I'm going to try to run straight from work before I drive home. I did it in the summer but of course it's going to be dark so much earlier soon. It's better lit in the streets around my office than at home & much flatter.
