So after not running since Thursday (hectic weekend including an unmitigated disaster attempting to start toilet-training my little boy), I did the last run of Week 4 this morning. Now, usually, if I've had a longer rest period between runs than usual I find the next run a bit easier. Not this morning. I'm wondering how the heck I did it last year. Last year I ran every other day without fail and got through the whole programme about as fast as it is possible to do it. And this despite giving blood at about week 4. This morning, having learnt my lesson from last week, I didn't over-dress, so at least I wasn't melting before I'd half started, but I found it quite hard.
Of course, I may be looking back at last year through rose-tinted glasses. It was probably hard then. The fact that I ended up being able to run for 30 mins at a time (and now I can't), doesn't mean that I found running for 5 minutes easy when I first started doing it. I even told myself this morning that if I didn't find it hard then I wasn't doing it right. The idea is to increase my fitness again, after all.
Anyway, the main thing is that I did it and I don't have to go running again until Wednesday... Off for a shower now.
