7 weeks down, 2 to go!

Just back from w7, r3 and can't quite believe I've only got 2 weeks till graduation!!!

Run today was good, slightly slower than r2 even without having to do a strip tease en route today.

I think I really need to try upping my pace a little, I always have more to give in the final 5 minutes and if it wasn't for the voices in my head telling me I'll never do it for the first 10 minutes then I think I could cover more ground easily.

Surely one day I'll realise I can actually do this now? I've not failed a run yet so I'm not sure why my default is to doubt myself (other than years of ingraining that I can't run/do exercise)!

I know what you mean about doubting yourself. I did my graduation run last Thursday and rather than set off at my normal pace I found myself striding out quite a bit faster. It made me feel more like a real runner! I managed that pace for the first km, and then slowed down to normal. I completed the run and it took more out of me than other runs, but now I know I can speed up. I plan to do some interval runs to work on my speed.

You are doing so well, if your body feels ok, give a speedier run a try.

I have done week 7 run 2 this morning - outside on the pavements for the first time. All previous runs have been done on the treadmill. It was harder but the feeling of pride and achievement overcomes all embarassment felt and niggles in hips and knees! Now looking forward to graduation and beyond!

Yey for outdoors! Done all mine outdoors (despite feeling odd to begin with and worrying about what passers by thought) and don't know how you manage on a treadmill! It's the view that keeps me going!!! :)

I will be doing the remainder outdoors as i wanted to be sure I could. Think I thought the treadmill wasnt giving me good info (always feel I couldnt possibly have kept going for the duration set by Laura). Now I know I can! Very very very slow though but intend to work on that once I have done the remaining runs.

Congrats on you doing what you have done . Will follow yr remaining runs to graduation and hope to be just a few days behind you. Dont know how to do the smiley face on my ipad but it would be there if I could!!
