knee prob s and calfs

ive been doing this for 3 weeks im quite fit as i bike 20 miles on bike 3 time s a week ive been runing 4 times a week so im up to wk 6 run 1 ive dne wk 5 20 25 runs and prob have done to much as my knee is grinding and calf s feel like blocks of cement ive been using this prog as im running 10 in 5 wks

is the knee painful? I had an issue a few years ago where my kneecap drifted out of place and literally ground against my knee joint... it was very painful (particularly if I tried to squat)... physiotherapy excercises worked to move my kneecap back... pain relief was almost immediate

regarding the calves (related to the knee or not I don't know)... if your legs feel heavy, you might not be getting the muscle oxygenated properly (this can happing if you're running too fast/ too hard...circulation can't keep up... take it back a notch)... if your legs are tight, you should stretch your calves after running or cycling (some good ones here: fitday.com/fitness-articles...
