I think the next couple of weeks without running is going to feel like forever
I missed my first run yesterday, after being told that I need custom-made orthotics for foot and shin problems...and I'm already feeling bereft.
The girls I was going to be running the Swansea 10k with are excited, as the race packs and running numbers arrived yesterday. We'd created a Facebook group to share training stories and support and generally cheer each other on, and it's been so brilliant to be a part of. I feel so flat now that I can't run. I was hoping to come in under an hour - not earth shattering but it would have been a huge achievement for me. Keeping up motivation, especially now the nights are drawing in and the weather's turning, is going to be a challenge.
My running journey since May has been, well, a journey and I was so looking forward to getting to the finish line on September 22nd.

Oh what a shame. You must be so disappointed and no wonder you feel flat..
However it's not forever and you will be running again soon. You have stuck with it so far... i am wondering if it would help to put something else into the slots you would normally be running ( strength and flex ? ) to keep the habit up. I will be happy to do what I can to support you to puck up again and keep motivated. I think a few of us might need it once the cold and wet sets in so it would be great if we can help keep each other going.
